Sunshine? Check. Barbecue?
Check. Garden furniture? Check. An array of fruity cocktails? Double check. So you're well on your way to hosting a fabulous summer party for family and friends but the one thing you don't want to be forgetting are the decorations and most importantly, bunting. No longer just reserved for the local school fete, bunting has made a massive revival over the last decade and is now the go to decoration to make sure any party or celebration starts with a flutter. We check out the latest offerings on the high street and online to make your party the best dressed around.
Turn your tea party tropical with this striking Mexicana bunting from The Oak Room (opens in new tab).
Featuring bird and flower cut-out designs in 5 eye catching colours, it's the perfect finishing touch for any summer fiesta.
This brand new, summer meadow bunting from Dotcomgiftshop (opens in new tab) is perfect for an outdoor party or celebration and will flutter delicately in the summer breeze. It's made from pretty paper, so just be careful when hanging over naked flames and candles!
For a more vintage feel, try a pretty floral bunting and hang over your table of food for guests to help themselves. Talking Tables (opens in new tab) have similar styles to this one to create the ultimate vintage festival feel.
Garden games are a must at any summer party but don't let them miss out on the decoration front! Set the games up in one corner of your garden (preferably away from the food so your stray balls don't end up in the salads!) and hang bright and colourful bunting from surrounding tree's to direct guests to the fun! Try Paperchase (opens in new tab)
for similar.
If you want to stick to a particular colour or theme for your garden party, Sainsbury's (opens in new tab) have lots of great ranges that include matching paper bunting, paper plates, cups, straws and tablecloths to ensure a stylish set up.
Fancy a bit of DIY fun?
Then try making your own bunting in any chosen colours or shapes. To create this Jackson Pollock type bunting, take a large sheet of white card, choose a couple of bright paints (B&Q (opens in new tab) have a great range!) and splatter to your hearts content! One the paint has dried, cut out several triangles of the same size and string together on a piece of ribbon or string and voila!, your own personalized bunting!
Finally we couldn't resist showing you this fruity and fun Pineapple bunting from Luck and Luck (opens in new tab)! Perfect for... well frankly any time of year!! Hang over your drinks or dessert table to get that fruity feeling!
