A little Alchemy from fire expert Chesney’s

Heating expert Chesney's has launched Alchemy, a stylish new range of glass-fronted gas fires

Livingetc loves a real fire, but we’re not always keen on kindling and matches, so heating expert Chesney’s new Alchemy range of gas fires has caught our attention. Real flames, individually hand-painted logs and a smartphone-style remote control make Alchemy fires quick and clean to light. The real magic, though, lies in the glass front – it’s non-reflective, so virtually invisible, and it’s super-efficient (around 80%), as it draws air in at the bottom and releases it at the top, so no more sitting perilously close to the flames to feel the heat. Choose from six interior panel styles – our favourite is limestone (pictured), ideal for a contemporary living room – and four sizes. From £1,680.
