The late Jackie Collins' LA home is on the market so you too can now enjoy the LA life with 5 studies, 8 bedrooms and a designer pool...
Jackie Collins’ former LA home is on the market – for a whopping $30 million.
After enjoying a successful career that saw her publish 32 bestselling novels, the late author Jackie Collins passed away in September 2015.
Her London home was put on the market last November, and now her former LA mansion is also for sale.
The ultra modern 8-bed property sits in a desirable spot in the exclusive Beverly Hills and was Jackie’s American bolthole after her move across the pond.
Jackie designed the home after being inspired by a David Hackney painting, ‘A Bigger Splash’, that she saw in a London gallery. Just as the art features bold colours and sharp lines, this 22,000 sq ft mansion boasts a turquoise rectangular pool and smart, sharp exterior.
Inside the property things are equally as glamorous. A 100-foot gallery (that’s 0.3 miles!) dotted with dazzling works of art separates the guest quarters from the main house to give them some privacy.
Also downstairs, a 12-seater cinema room ensured Jackie could watch her film star sibling on the big screen.
An enormous living room also occupies the ground floor.
Reaping the rewards of a large square footage, Jackie designed a symmetrical interior that allowed for lots of seating, a bar and outdoor living space accessed by huge sliding doors.
But of course it’s the main quarters that steal the show.
Being an esteemed author, Jackie couldn’t make do with just one study, nor two, but five! Dotted throughout the home, each writing station inspired her in different ways, though we hear the one next to the gym and her bedroom were used the most…
Talking of bedrooms, the master suite doesn’t disappoint.
The multifunction quarters boast a sitting space, study, spacious bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and balcony to step out onto and enjoy the view of palm studded hills.
The property is listed with Hilton Hyland.
