British Food Fortnight runs from September 19th until October 4th and what better way to celebrate than stocking up on the best seasonal produce at one of these food markets?
For the east London foodies, there’s no better Saturday destination than Broadway Market. Yes, there are numerous cafes, but the real star here is the market. From freshly grilled burgers and homemade Scotch eggs to seasonal cakes from Violet to spices, cheese, breads and olives – you won’t need to go anywhere else for your weekly shop.
Keep an eye out for @Bristol_Eats on Twitter to find out the latest line-up for the street food market that takes place on Bristol’s Temple Quay every 2nd and 4th Thursday. People such as Gopal’s Curry Shack, who make spicy vegan curries, and key lime pie and brownie purveyors American kitchen are regulars, while other stalls have included Jacob’s Finest Falafel and Ah-Ma’s Dumplings, serving their slow rested belloy pork steamed buns.
Held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, all the food and drink sold here is produced within 30 miles of the market. There’s everything hungry foodies could want here, from cakes and bread to handmade butter, charcuterie, and local ales.
Located on Castle Terrace, just in front of Edinburgh Castle, over 50 producers head here every Saturday. Stock up on organic fruit and veg, local game, charcuterie, artisan gin, preserves and fresh plants, and tuck into some gourmet marshmallows.
One of the South West’s most awarded farmers’ markets, local producers head to Cornhill Market Place every Saturday, including Wiltshire Chilli Farm, The Garlic Farm, The Potted Game Company, and Hobbs house Bakery.
