Boots expands into home appliances

The pharmacy giant is now selling household appliances, including fridge-freezers and ovens, online

Next time you pop into Boots for your beauty essentials, you might be suprised to find fridge-freezers on sale next to the No. 7 counter.

Boots, the company, which sold its DIY Do-It-All chain to Focus in 1998, has decided to focus on the home appliances market.

Big ticket items like dishwashers and fridges are now available online at You can also buy smaller appliances such as cookers and hobs to extractor fans, washing machines and fridge freezers.

The company is also hoping to expand into the US market, after american pharmacy chain, Walgreens bought a large share of the business back in June.
