Hema’s Dutch courage pays off

Grab a bargain at Amsterdam’s fab new export

Following hot on the heels of Danish import Tiger, new Dutch store Hema is Livingetc‘s latest go-to – and sure to be one of our first stops as we embark on our Christmas

With 660 outlets in seven countries, including France, Germany and Belgium, Hema has been a big hit across Europe for a while. Now the brand is letting the UK in on the action with an easy-to-navigate website and three new shops in Victoria, Kingston and Bromley.

Value, fun – check out the punchy patterns! – and quality are Hema’s buzz words. The bountiful array of everyday own-brand items are beautifully designed, on-trend and reassuringly affordable.

At just £30, this harlequin-inspired Bergerac duvet cover and pillowcase set, above, is perfect for cosying up on chilly nights. And from its mint-green rolling pin, top, £10, and punchy red stovetop espresso maker, below, £15, via its striped woven tablecloth, bottom, Hema has everything you need to give your kitchen a serious colour injection.

Finally, let us give you a little heads-up – if you’re going in-store, be prepared to spend a good few hours snapping up all the bargains on offer and to need a little help ferrying them home… Taxi!
