Judith Kerr’s Mog the cat returns for a new festive adventure. And it’s glorious
Sainsbury’s has unveiled its Christmas
campaign for 2015, and it’s fair to say it’s an absolute cracker.
A cat cracker, at that.
Children’s writer Judith Kerr has revived her famously hapless moggy, Mog, to be the star of this year’s Sainsbury’s show.
Bringing festive cheer to us all, the advert re-introduces Mog and her family on Christmas Eve.
After a particularly bad nightmare the night before Christmas, calamity cat Mog has a bit of a ding dong with the odd Christmas decoration, resulting in what can only be described as a complete catastrophe in the kitchen.
Ever the hero, Mog naturally saves the day herself by dialing 999 with her chunky tabby paws, before the fire brigade arrives to sort out the mess.
The firemen are quickly followed by Mog’s neighbours and friends, who arrive in their droves clutching crackers, turkey and gifts for the family so they don’t miss out on Christmas.
As well as working with the supermarket on the advert, Judith Kerr has also written a new Mog book which will be on sale in stores – with proceeds going to Save the Children.
